CES 2014: On the Show Floor

CES 2014 is well underway here in Las Vegas, and the Henge Docks team is enjoying the energy and controlled chaos of the show.  The booth has received numerous compliments, as have all of Henge Docks products.

It's been great talking to people at the show and getting the chance to showcase all of our products at this year's CES.  Seeing the surprise and delight when people pick up the Gravitas and experience its heft for the first time is very entertaining.  And of course it's always a highlight hearing from Henge Docks users about their love for our products.

The highly anticipated Horizontal Dock is on display this year direct from our manufacturer. Also  showcased are the forthcoming Vertical Docking Stations for MacBook Pro with Retina Display, in both our classic white finish and a new solid metal version.

If you're attending CES this year, stop by the Henge Docks booth in the iLounge, Booth 6808.  We look forward to sharing our enthusiasm for our products with you and showing you our new and upcoming products!

While the exact specs haven’t yet been released, there is hardware that connects via MagSafe, and then the dock is powered via A/C adapter.

I have been scavenging through the pictures to find the answer but can’t seem to find anything.

How is the horizontal dock powered? Does it use a routed mag safe adapter or do y’all use a regular figure 8 power cord and have the mag safe built in?

I feel like it is likely that we have to route the mag safe adapter due to apple restrictions but would like a solid answer.

Thanks, Matt! CES definitely went well. We are hoping to have the Horizontal Dock to production in March, shipping in late-Q2.

Sounds like CES went well. Nice to see all the interest.

Now that it’s over, are we getting close to firmer ship dates for the Horizontal Dock?

Thanks for the reply Chelsea,

I understand these details could change from now and release but to clarify
Is the hardware included with the dock? and would we need to use the existing magsafe adapters we have?

Are you licensing the MagSafe 2 from Apple? (I suspect not…)

You will not have to install your own MagSafe into the Horizontal Dock.
